How to Diet with Mexican Food

No.  It’s not that!!!  Eewwwwww.

This last Friday the hubster and I went with some friends to see Brian Regan perform in Columbus.  We ate out before the show at this Mexican restaurant we absolutely adore, El Vaquero.  Seriously, some amazing Mexican food.  Now, as you may recall from previous posts on exercise, I am trying to lose weight so I don’t have to dress as Emmett (big, bear-sized dude) for our Twilight party in November.  You may even wonder how those bottomless baskets of tortilla chips make a sensible diet-conscious choice.  Well, they don’t.

Whilst my beloved hubby and friends were snorking down chips and salsa like they were…well, free, I quietly muttered to myself, “I’d better wake up skinny tomorrow.”  After I ordered my favorite entree without the yummy cheese-smothered rice it’s supposed to come with, I muttered with a bit more gusto, “I’d better wake up skinny tomorrow.”  When my entree came and I had to make myself give away my hot, tender flour tortillas, I nearly yelled, “I’d better wake up skinny tomorrow!”  Thank whatever Mexican food gods there might be for the unbelievably tasty Yucatan sauce that covered my chicken and grilled veggies, because at least my food still tasted good!

Saturday morning, I woke up, and guess what!  I was skinny!!!

Well, not skinny exactly, but at least I reached my first 10-pound goal.  Can I get a woo-hoo?

You know what I get for reaching my first goal?  *giggles*  Among other stuff, hubster now has to dress up for the Twilight party.  Oh yes, he is going to be Carlisle!  And if I can keep up with my workouts and my food choices I’ll get to go as Esme (instead of Emmett).

  1. Woo hoo!!!!! Nothing like waking up skinny!

  2. That’s so not fair – well, I’m happy FOR you, but I’ve been exercising since Feb and trying to eat better and haven’t been able to lose more than 10 (it fluctuates a bit). :-P I guess I need to try harder.

GOOD JOB & KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. :-)

  3. Super, Aimee! I mean, Esme!
